The primary school in Aston currently have a vacancy for a Special Needs Teacher to lead their Resource Base. The school is a vibrant and caring school situated in Aston close to the Witton Road, where children are taught to respect and value each other, and themselves. This role is to start after October half term or the school would consider waiting until January for the right candidate. It is full time and fixed term for the academic year. The Resource Base Teacher Role: Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons tailored to pupils with complex needs including Hearing Impairments (HI), Autistic Spectrum Disorder(ASD), Physical Disability (PD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties(PMLD) across mixed primary classes Adapt learning materials and teaching styles to meet individual learning profiles and EHCP outcomes Lead a classroom with the support of experienced Teaching Assistants Build trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and families Promote a trauma-informed, inclusive and nurturing learning environment Collaborate with SENCOs, therapists and external professionals to ensure effective support for all pupils Required Skills and Experience for this SEN Teacher Role: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) Experience teaching pupils with complex needs in a special school, resource base, PRU or inclusive mainstream setting Proven ability to plan and deliver tailored learning to meet a wide range of SEND requirements Familiarity with strategies for supporting communication, emotional regulation, and behaviour management A nurturing, creative and resilient teaching approach Confident working in mixed-age or mixed-ability primary classes Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply) Current understanding of safeguarding practices in SEND settingsTo be considered for this role or to gain further information please get in touch with Ashleigh on (phone number removed) or email (url removed).
