We are seeking an experienced VDI Engineer to maintain and support a high-performance Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environment for our End Clients Trading Desk and Front Office users. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in low-latency systems, Citrix or VMware Horizon platforms, and a strong understanding of financial trading workflows. This role requires close collaboration with traders, application teams, and infrastructure engineers to ensure a seamless, secure, and performant end-user experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain VDI environments (Citrix / VMware Horizon / Azure Virtual Desktop) optimized for high-performance trading applications.
* Assist with VDI Design and build.
* Onsite Support for incident response and problem management.
* Monitor, troubleshoot, and tune VDI performance to minimize latency and maximize reliability.
* Provide Tradefloor support for Trader Users.
* Laise with network, storage, and systems teams to optimize backend infrastructure supporting virtual desktops.
* Deploy and maintain images, applications, and profiles for traders.
* Laise with information security team to ensure compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
* Maintain documentation of VDI architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.
* Participate in on-call rotation and provide support during market hours.
* W2 Employment with 40 hours per week.
* Our end client in a multinational investment Bank based in New York City.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
* 5+ years of experience managing VDI environments (Citrix Virtual Apps/Desktops, VMware Horizon, or Azure Virtual Desktop).
* Strong understanding of Windows 10/11, Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy.
* Experience with Bloomberg, Reuters, Eikon, and custom trading applications.
* Exposure to real-time market data systems and FIX protocol environments.
* Knowledge of cloud-hosted VDI (Azure, AWS WorkSpaces).
