We are seeking a Drainage Designer with 1 to 3 years’ drainage design experience to join our growing team. This role is ideal for an early-career civil or drainage engineer looking to develop their skills on real infrastructure projects.
You will be involved in the design of trackside and off-track drainage systems, working closely with senior engineers and supporting delivery across rail and civil infrastructure schemes.
Key Responsibilities

Drainage design for rail and civil infrastructure projects

Use of InfoDrainage for hydraulic modelling and drainage layouts
*
Preparation of drainage calculations, drawings, and technical reports
*
Supporting site visits and coordination with project teams
*
Assisting with design development through different project stages
Essential Requirements
*
1–3 years’ experience in drainage design
*
Strong working knowledge of InfoDrainage
*
Degree in Civil Engineering, Drainage Engineering, or similar
*
Good understanding of drainage principles and UK standards
*
Willingness to attend site visits as required
Desirable Experience
*
Experience in railway track drainage or off-track drainage design
*
Familiarity with infrastructure projects in Anglia, Kent, Sussex, or Wessex
*
Experience working within multidisciplinary design teams
Candidates based in or near these regions will be at an advantage due to the need for occasional site visits.
