What we’re looking for
You don’t need to be an Olympic athlete, just someone who loves the buzz of sport and the impact it can have on young people. Ideally you’ll bring:
6. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
7. Strong behaviour management and a calm, confident approach
8. Experience delivering both practical and academic PE, from fitness components and leadership modules to skills-based lessons
9. Flexibility to pick up different year groups and adapt to new environments
10. The ability to drive is helpful for getting around Gloucester’s many schools, but it’s not a dealbreaker
What you’ll be doing
Depending on the role you choose, your days may include:
11. Delivering engaging practical sessions across a range of sports
12. Teaching theory topics like anatomy, physiology, healthy lifestyles, or sports psychology
13. Supporting extracurricular clubs, fixtures, and enrichment activities
14. Maintaining positive routines and clear expectations with each group
15. Collaborating with departments who genuinely care about student wellbeing and progress

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
