About the role
Joining a HNW business development team (and a larger HNW division), your focus will be on proactively managing new business. Primarily, the role involves managing insurance for a clientele with high-value possessions, ranging from exquisite jewellery and art collections to classic cars and luxury homes. You will be crafting bespoke insurance solutions while providing unparalleled individual guidance, connecting clients with a network of trusted valuers, security firms, and property managers.
This is an opportunity to own your destiny and develop a career that you alone define. It will be your responsibility to provide leads and build strong relationships internally to ensure a steady stream of referrals. Youll also be responsible for building rapports with new clients and working closely with local teams, introducers and directors to achieve exciting and ambitious objectives. Your portfolio will encompass high net worth (HNW), home, motor, fine art, jewellery, travel, and pet insurance.
Consistency will be crucial to ensure a strong and constant pipeline. The quicker and more effectively you and the team transition clients to the EB team, the more focused you can become on generating and securing new high-net-worth clients.
The key to success in this role is exemplary service - over 95 per cent of the company clients choose to stay each year. Youll therefore bring the qualities and skill to manage, meet and exceed client expectations; as well as the dedication to building close, long-term, personal relationships both externally and internally.
You wont be afraid to rewrite the rulebook to create the best custom-made solutions for clients. Also, youll be adept in finding ways to streamline the process for them, making insurance arrangements simpler with minimal fuss or drama. And you can rise to any challenge, investing yourself in every sense; happy to take ownership of your decisions, actions and outputs.
The team will be supported by a marketing person and a dedicated business development executive who will be generating leads and an assistant account handler. As a team player, youll help create and contribute to a team and workplace environment which is consistently inspiring everyone to do their very best for the business, clients and each other.
What youll bring

Youll be a natural at selling, driven by a passion for excellent customer service and winning new clients. Youll also need to be a proven negotiator, so you can ensure the best possible terms and premiums. You can demonstrate you have the tenacity and natural business curiosity that will enable you to identify and explore opportunities, as well as drive them towards the best possible outcomes.
Naturally consultative, you question and listen effectively. You innately appreciate the importance of taking time to fully grasp clients requirements and needs, in order to best advise on products and solutions, and proactively and accurately identify opportunities.
Ideally, youll bring experience developing new business and building relationships with private or HNW clients, and insurers; as well as internally with colleagues across multiple divisions.
Candidates from a range of insurance backgrounds will also be considered if you bring the right skillsets. Equally, you will be considered if you have solid employee benefits or life and protection background, or have exceptional and relevant commercial experience or an outstanding track record in sales.
It will be useful but not essential if you have Acturis experience.
What youll receive
This is a hybrid role, requiring two days in the office in Farnborough and three days working from home. Generally, office days are Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays (though this might be subject to business needs).
The highly competitive compensation structure includes a monthly salary (which is dependent on experience), an annual overachievement threshold bonus, and the chance to earn uncapped commission. In addition to earning a monthly commission incentive, you will receive a quarterly bonus for leads passed over to the commercial team.
Youll also enjoy full supported incentives for accelerated career progression, including excellent training and development schemes and company funded CII professional qualification.
