Resurrected Bites is a high-impact charity founded on Christian principles, dedicated to reducing food waste and tackling food poverty. We are seeking a Treasurer to play a vital role in ensuring our financial resilience and long-term sustainability.
Responsibilities
* Oversee the financial affairs of the organisation, ensuring they are legal, constitutional and in line with accepted accounting practice.
* Maintain proper records, effective financial procedures and internal controls.
* Monitor and report on the financial health of the organisation.
* Produce necessary financial reports, accounts and audits.
* Inform fellow board members of their financial obligations and interpret financial data for them.
* Present the financial position at board meetings (balance sheet, cash flow, fundraising performance, etc.).
* Develop an annual budget and propose its adoption at the end of the financial year.
* Appraise the financial viability of plans, proposals and feasibility studies.
* Lead the appointment and liaison with auditors or an independent examiner.
Qualifications and Experience
* Knowledge and experience of current finance practice relevant to voluntary and community organisations.
* Knowledge of bookkeeping and financial management.
* Strong financial analysis skills.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* Integrity and a commitment to maintaining high ethical standards and transparency.
* Strategic thinking, with the ability to look at the "big picture" and think creatively about growth.
* Proven collaboration and team-work skills.
Working arrangements
The role is hybrid. The Treasurer will sit on the Board of Trustees and work closely with the CEO and the Board to steer the charity toward a sustainable and impactful future.
