We have an excellent opportunity available for a Public Health Practitioner (Analyst), to join our proactive Public Health Team at Wokingham Borough Council, on a full-time, permanent basis.
As Public Health Practitioner (Analyst), you will be involved in a varied and exciting programme of work aimed at improving the health and wellbeing of residents. The key purpose of the role is to contribute to the development and improvement of public health intelligence work.
You will be involved in complex programmes of work that generate insight and knowledge to inform evidence-based decision making across health and care systems; this will underpin our work to improve public health outcomes and reduce inequalities in accordance with the council’s ambition of becoming a ‘Marmot Borough’.
This pivotal role will give you the opportunity to work within an innovative Public Health team, whilst collaborating with colleagues across the council and external partners.

Key Responsibilities
* Supporting the data led approach to understanding public health programmes to improve the health outcomes for the local community
* Identifying population health needs, using appropriate analytical techniques and working with multiple qualitative and quantitative data sources, including intelligence from local communities
* Supporting colleagues to ensure that projects are driven by evidence-based intelligence
* Developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards
Candidate Requirements
* Educated to degree level or equivalent
* Experience of analysing data and handling datasets and using specialist software tools such as Power BI and SQL
* Excellent team working skills and evidence of delivering successful outcomes
