The Role As a Maintenance Engineer, you’ll be responsible for keeping CNC machinery operating at peak performance through proactive maintenance, timely repairs, and continuous improvement initiatives. Working closely with the Machine Shop Manager, you’ll play a hands-on role in reducing downtime, solving complex technical issues, and supporting smooth day-to-day production. Key Responsibilities Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance in line with manufacturer specifications. Diagnose and repair faults on CNC machinery, including 4- and 5-axis machining centres and CNC turning machines. Replace or repair worn components, wiring, and electrical parts. Liaise with external suppliers and contractors for specialist repairs where needed. Operate forklifts and lifting equipment safely for the movement of tools and materials. About You We’re looking for a proactive, hands-on engineer with a solid background in maintaining CNC machine tools and a strong focus on quality, safety, and reliability. Essential Requirements 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (IEE) certification. Forklift licence. Skilled in the use of hand tools and electrical testing equipment. Proven experience maintaining CNC machines in a manufacturing environment. GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade C/4 or above in Maths and English. Excellent fault-finding ability, manual dexterity, and a logical approach to problem-solving. What’s on Offer Competitive salary £40,000–£42,000 overtime. 9% non-contributory pension scheme.
