CNC Team Lead
Poole – £40,000 to £50,000
We are recruiting for an experienced CNC Team Lead to join a well-established manufacturing business in Poole. This is a permanent opportunity for a CNC Team Lead with strong CNC machining and leadership experience who can manage a production shift and maintain high standards across quality, output, and safety.
As the CNC Team Lead, you will be responsible for the day-to-day performance of Shift B, ensuring production targets, on-time delivery, and compliance are consistently achieved. The CNC Team Lead will work closely with planning, engineering, and management to keep workflows efficient and the CNC machine shop operating smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, manage, and motivate a team of CNC machinists on Shift B
Ensure all health & safety, COSHH, and risk assessments are followed
Deliver daily, weekly, and monthly production targets and on-time delivery
Run shift handovers, toolbox talks, and team briefings
Drive Continuous Improvement, Lean manufacturing, and TPM activities
Manage training, competence, and performance of CNC personnel
Investigate quality, safety, and performance issues using root cause analysisEssential Skills and Experience
Proven experience as a CNC Team Lead or in a similar supervisory role
Strong background in CNC machining and machine shop operations
Experience managing people, performance, and absence
Good knowledge of health & safety and modern manufacturing processes
Strong communication, planning, and organisational skills
Experience working in Lean, CI, or performance-driven manufacturing environmentsDesirable Experience
CNC programming experience
Knowledge of Lean tools including 5S, Kaizen, SMED, TPM, and Kanban
Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word, and OutlookBenefits
