Team Leader (Roads) - London & South East
The Team Leader will lead a team of circa 35 people locally within our London & South East teams, in addition to part of our attached Roads GCC team based in India (Bengaluru, Noida and Mumbai). The Team Leader is responsible for the development and operational performance of the team as part of the wider cost centre to meet regional budget targets and deliver projects. We support both public sector and private sector clients and this role will support major commissions, including, National Highways Scheme Delivery Framework schemes and other Local Authority Frameworks (e.g., Hampshire County Council, Ealing Borough Council, Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) and Cambridgeshire County Council).
Responsibilities
* Being a champion of health, safety, and well-being culture by leading by example.
* Maintaining an overview of the financial performance for projects within the cost centre.
* Drive operational excellence to achieve budget targets on utilisation.
* Manage and monitor technical delivery to ensure ‘right first time’.
* Line manage and develop team members to achieve their goals and aspirations.
* Lead on business development activities to bring in new, sustainable opportunities for WSP.
* Support and work with the Regional Director, London & South East to meet cost centre goals.
* Lead on projects to ensure technical quality and timely delivery.
What we will be looking for
* Experience of managing a Professional Services team relevant to a Roads discipline.
* Chartered Member of the appropriate Institution.
* Experience operating at management level delivering services into the public and private sector.
