A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Gate Automation Engineer to join our client’s growing team covering the Midlands. This is a primarily field-based role with the flexibility of working from home, alongside weekly visits to the main base in Leicester to replenish stock and collect equipment.
The Role
This is a varied and hands-on position involving:
* Installation of new gate automation systems
* Retrofitting and upgrading existing systems
* Service, maintenance, and fault finding
* Safety upgrades to ensure compliance
There will also be an element of groundwork involved during new installations, typically carried out as part of a two-person team.
Key Responsibilities
* Install and maintain gate automation systems to a high standard
* Diagnose and resolve faults efficiently
* Work independently or as part of a team depending on project needs
* Deliver accurate reports via tablet to the office
* Communicate professionally with customers and residents on-site
* Work to deadlines in a demanding, fast-paced environment
Skills & Experience Required
* Proven experience with gate automation systems (experience with CAME, ROGER, BENINCA, or BFT is advantageous)
* Knowledge of access control systems, door entry systems, and door automation (desirable)
* Basic welding experience (beneficial)
* Strong understanding of health and safety practices
* Fluent English (spoken and written)
* Full UK driving licence
* Electrical installation qualification (preferred but not essential)
* Responsible, safety-conscious, and team-oriented approach
Salary & Benefits
* £38,000 – £40,000 (depending on experience)
* Overtime available
* Travel time paid (minus 30 minutes each way)
* Company van, fuel card, mobile phone, and uniform provided

* 28 days holiday (including bank holidays)
Working Hours
* Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:30 (40 hours per week)
* Optional Saturday work paid at time and a half
* Additional weekday hours paid at standard rate
