About the Role
As a Senior Care Assistant at HC One, kindness is at the core of everything you do. It guides all aspects of our Dementia, Nursing, Residential and Specialist care homes. Our residents are people with their own stories, and by joining us you have a wonderful opportunity to give something back.
This is a full-time position of 44 hours per week. You will plan and implement care that gives residents a real sense of security, dignity and independence. You will get to know residents and their families, helping to deliver truly personalised care plans. Leading a team of Care Assistants, you will maintain the highest standards of care and influence the rest of the team. From showing someone how to use a walking frame to supporting someone at the end of life, you will do so with kindness above all else. You will assist the Registered Nurse and Care Manager and be involved in providing essential physical and mental stimulation through social and recreational activities, as well as administering medication.
One key responsibility is to maintain accurate records of your work and build strong relationships with your team.
Responsibilities
* Plan and implement care to give residents security, dignity and independence.
* Lead a team of Care Assistants and maintain high standards of care.
* Assist with daily living activities, including end-of-life support and communication with residents’ families.
* Support the Registered Nurse and Care Manager; facilitate social and recreational activities; administer medication as required.
* Maintain accurate records and build strong team relationships.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Ideally, a Level 2 Diploma in Adult Social Care (S/NVQ) and prepared to work towards Level 3 or equivalent.
* Background in person-centred care planning and knowledge of caring for people with dementia.
* Excellent energy, communication, time management and ability to work with residents and colleagues with kindness and consideration.
* Ability to maintain accurate records and manage time effectively.
