New Chapter Tuition is recruiting compassionate and experienced KS3 Transition Tutors to support children and young people transitioning into secondary education across Bromley.
This rewarding outreach role focuses on supporting learners who may struggle with the transition from primary to secondary school due to additional needs, anxiety, disengagement from education, or gaps in learning.
Learners may present with:
* Autism (ASC)
* SEMH
* ADHD
* Dyslexia
* Anxiety and emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA)
* Speech and Language Needs
* Additional learning needs
Many learners may be accessing EOTAS support, alternative provision, or awaiting specialist school placements.
Sessions take place within homes, libraries, schools, and community learning environments.
The Role
* Deliver engaging 1:1 transition-focused tuition
* Support learners with confidence, engagement, and emotional regulation
* Prepare learners for KS3 routines and curriculum expectations
* Deliver support across English, Maths, and core learning skills
* Adapt learning approaches to individual needs and EHCP outcomes
* Build positive relationships with learners and families
* Complete session reports and progress feedback
* Apply trauma-informed and nurture-based approaches throughout delivery
Requirements
* Experience supporting children or young people with SEN / SEND
* Experience within tutoring, teaching, mentoring, TA, HLTA, or youth support preferred
* Good understanding of KS2 and KS3 curriculum expectations
* Strong communication and behaviour management skills
* Patient, resilient, and adaptable approach
* Ability to work independently within community settings
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
* Right to work in the UK
