NHS Borders dietetic department is looking for an experienced, motivated and compassionate paediatric dietitian to provide clinical expertise and leadership. This Band 7 Paediatric Dietitian Team Lead post holds a senior, specialist role responsible for managing clinical workloads and leading staff in paediatric services. The role involves high-level clinical decision-making, service development, and patient safety.
This 12‑month fixed‑term post covering maternity leave offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced dietitian who is ready to step into a senior leadership role and broaden their professional portfolio.
You will lead a small, dynamic clinical team within the Nutrition and Dietetic Service, overseeing patient care, managing complex, specialist caseloads in acute and community settings. This post will be based at the Borders General Hospital though will include travel throughout the Borders in order to deliver service needs.
Working closely with a multi‑disciplinary team, you will take a proactive role in patient care, service improvement, education and pathway development. You will work across a range of teams and specialities. This post is ideal for someone looking to develop their leadership capability, influence service direction and contribute to innovative practice.
Within the post you will benefit from peer support, opportunities for professional development and involvement in the supervision of dietitans and dietetic students.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, facilitation and leadership skills are essential, alongside the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
You must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.
