Role Details:
* Allocate and monitor given tasks to those under their control to achieve the required levels of performance.
* Full engagement with Improvement Observation process.
* Drive site performance and productivity.
* Implement safety procedures e.g. risk assessments, method statements, critical task, permit to work, Improvement Observation process etc
* Monitor Hazard awareness, including continuously reinforce Focus2Zero message for all site activities including error traps and Focus2Zero Error Prevention Tools.
* Liaison with sub-contracts/commercial function to define and manage NDT, Heat Treatment & Gas supply contractors.
* Carry out toolbox talks
* To ensure that all site lifting and lifting related operations and other tasks under their supervision are carried out in a safe manner, free of risk to all members of the workforce.
* To plan, organise and execute the work including lifting operation within their scope to achieve the required level of safety, performance and productivity.
* To complete those administrative tasks required under the scope of the contract.
* To ensure correct lifting operation methods are employed, and to carry out the required tasks ensuring a safe working environment is maintained.
* To ensure the Critical Task procedures are being correctly adhered and administered
* To assist the resident engineer to ensure the operational methods are employed to carry out the required works.
* To ensure the quality standards are achieved by implementing quality procedures advising section/quality engineers of problems with procedures and standards of workmanship and cooperation in the resolution.
* To handle effectively all first line disciplinary, grievance and performance management issues.
Key Requirements:
* Satisfactory completion and maintenance of “Professional Development Record” (PDR)
* 3 years’ experience as an advanced Rigger/Erector
* 2 year experience as charge hand / supervisor
* Experience of supervising in two types of environment (manufacturing, thermal, petrochemical, pharmaceutical and nuclear environments).
Qualifications:
* Full Apprenticeship in relevant trade or NVQ 3 or equivalent in Erecting (for all Rigging and Erecting tasks) or NVQ 3 or equivalent in Moving loads (for Rigging tasks only)
* CCNSG Safety Passport training or IOSH Managing Safely
* Have IOSH Managing Safely or be willing to complete
