Are you a skilled and experienced potato grower looking for the next step in your farming career? We’re working on behalf of a highly respected and progressive farming business in Lincolnshire, seeking a capable and motivated Potato Farm Manager to take ownership of their field-scale potato operation.
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone with deep knowledge of crop production, excellent organisational skills, and a commitment to quality and efficiency across the entire crop cycle.
đź”§ Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage all aspects of potato crop production – from planning and planting through to harvesting and storage.

Manage irrigation, nutrition, and pest control programmes to maximise yield and crop quality.
*
Operate and oversee the use of modern farm machinery, including planters, harvesters, and irrigation systems.
*
Manage field staff and seasonal labour, ensuring smooth and safe operations.
*
Monitor crop performance and report on progress, yields, and any issues.
*
Work closely with agronomists and the wider management team to implement best-practice methods.
*
Maintain records, compliance, and traceability to Red Tractor and other assurance standards.
*
Oversee maintenance of equipment and storage facilities.
*
Support long-term planning and improvements across the farm’s potato enterprise.

A minimum of 5 years’ experience managing potatoes in a commercial farm setting.
*
Proven leadership experience in managing teams and overseeing complex seasonal operations.
*
Strong knowledge of crop health, soil care, irrigation, and storage management.
*
Confident and competent operator of modern farm machinery and telehandlers.
*
BASIS and/or FACTS qualifications are advantageous but not essential.
*
Good IT and record-keeping skills.
*
Excellent communication and team leadership qualities.
