Role: CMM Inspector
Shift Pattern: Night Shift (Monday–Thursday)
Location: Northampton – high-performance engineering / motorsport environment
Contract Type: Contractor
We are supporting a high-performance engineering organisation seeking an experienced CMM Inspector to join their quality function on a night shift pattern. The role sits within a fast-paced manufacturing environment producing precision components to extremely tight tolerances.
This position will suit someone comfortable working independently on nights, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage inspection workload without direct supervision.
Key Responsibilities
* Dimensional inspection of precision components using CMM equipment
* Running and interpreting inspection programs using PolyWorks (essential)
* Operating and, where required, editing or creating CMM programs in PC-DMIS (highly desirable)
* First Article Inspection (FAI), in-process and final inspection
* Interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T, and inspection specifications
* Completing inspection reports and quality documentation accurately
* Supporting non-conformance investigations and feedback to manufacturing
* Maintaining calibration, traceability, and inspection best practice on night shift
Essential Experience & Skills
* Proven experience as a CMM Inspector in a precision manufacturing environment (composites or metallics)
* Strong working knowledge of PolyWorks
* Ability to run CMM programs independently
* Confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T
* Experience working to tight tolerances and high quality standards
* Comfortable working a night shift pattern with minimal supervision
Desirable / Advantageous
* Experience programming or modifying programs in PC-DMIS
* Background in motorsport, aerospace, automotive, or high-performance engineering
* Exposure to both metallic and composite components
