Fixed Term Contract May 2025 for 14 months
This will be a hybrid role with requirements to work from one of our Tuckwell depots, preferably Ardleigh or Worlingworth.
There will be a requirement to travel to other depots across the group, so a valid UK driving licence is essential for this role.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a creative and dynamic Communications Officer to join our busy Tuckwells Marketing team.
An innovative storyteller with a passion for content creation, the successful candidate will work with the Group Head of Marketing to contribute meaningfully to our communications strategy. You will be adept at planning and creating both external and internal communications materials across a variety of formats, actively driving clear, targeted, and impactful brand messaging.
The role would suit a proactive, organised, and naturally confident communicator with a passion for working collaboratively to develop and create multi-channel, cross-platform content. We are looking for a self-motivated, natural multi-tasker with excellent written communication skills and exceptional digital production capabilities.
You will have a genuine enthusiasm for delivering effective communication plans and the determination to meet deadlines in a complex and busy environment. You will be a self-starter with a hands-on approach and the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people, including staff, customers, suppliers, and wider stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of, and experience in, managing social media channels, digital production, and editing, and will be confident working with email marketing platforms.
Essential Duties:
Digital Communications:
* Source, create, and edit compelling internal and external content for a wide range of owned, earned, and paid digital media channels.
* Day-to-day management of the organisation’s social media accounts (including planning, scheduling, and advertising).
* Create visually engaging collateral for social media, websites, emails, and publications using design platforms.
* Act as a key point of contact for staff and suppliers to ensure balanced representation of all core business segments.
* Collect and report on social media analytics, contributing to the KPI dashboard.
* Monitor social media trends and adapt plans as needed.
* Provide guidance and support on digital production tools and the use of organisational social media channels.
* Produce Tuckwells’ monthly e-newsletter.
* Ensure the Tuckwells website remains up to date with the latest events and stories.
Press and PR:
* Research, plan, and manage a schedule of news articles and photo opportunities around events and seasonal activities.
* Support the Group Head of Marketing with the creation and distribution of press releases, liaising with trade and local media to maximise exposure.
* Arrange, capture, and edit photographs and videos for use across digital and traditional media.
Other Responsibilities:
* Assist with proofreading, copywriting, and the production of marketing materials.
* Champion and uphold brand guidelines across the organisation.
* Support the creation of corporate publications with engaging and creative content.
* Conduct competitor analysis and market research.
* Assist with preparation and coordination of marketing for key events, including regional shows.
* Provide general administrative support to the marketing function, including managing stock of collateral, liaising with suppliers and partners, handling data, and processing orders.
* Undertake any other duties appropriate to the role, as directed by the Group Head of Marketing.
Skills and Qualifications:
* Proven experience in a similar role with a focus on digital marketing, content creation, and social media management.
* Passionate about content creation, visual communication, and staying up to date with the latest tools, apps, and techniques.
* Active and knowledgeable user of social media platforms, particularly TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and X (formerly Twitter)
* Experience in video creation and editing using appropriate software.
* Confident in using a digital camera and producing high-quality photography.
* Strong writing skills, with experience creating content for external audiences.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Excellent project management skills with the ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure.
* Self-motivated, quick to learn, and a confident self-starter.
* A collaborative team player with excellent communication skills.
