Aptar is seeking a Toolmaker based in Leeds, UK. This is a fully onsite role working 42 hours per week across a rotating shift pattern (12‑hour day shifts, Monday to Sunday).
As a Toolmaker, you will be responsible for servicing and repairing mould tools to ensure optimal performance in our production environment.
As a Tool Maker, you will:
* Service mould tools for use in the Production department
* Maintain and test mould hot runner systems
* Disassemble and reassemble moulds
* Perform metal polishing and fault identification
* Respond to tool breakdowns and execute timely repairs
* Advise on new tooling projects and design improvements
* Manufacture fixtures and spare parts for tooling
* Maintain high standards of record keeping and housekeeping (including 5S)
* Use internal software such as Mattec, and Microsoft tools
* Collaborate with the team to drive continuous improvement initiatives
Who We are Looking For:
We’re seeking a hands‑on, detail‑oriented individual with strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work independently. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment and demonstrates sound decision‑making based on data.
Education
* Toolmaking apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering
Required Skills
* Experience servicing and repairing injection mould tools
* Ability to identify mould vs. process‑related faults
* Skilled in metal polishing and tool assembly/disassembly
* Proficient in using internal systems and maintaining documentation
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Skills
* Experience in injection moulding
* Background as a Tool Maker or Tooling Engineer
* Familiarity with injection machines
* Experience in high‑pressure manufacturing environments
