Installation Manager
We are seeking a highly organised and driven Installation Manager to lead and oversee our installation operations within Marlowe Kitchen Fire Suppression. This is a pivotal role responsible for ensuring the efficient delivery of installations, effective resource planning, and high levels of customer satisfaction.
You will manage day-to-day operations, support field engineers and schedulers, and drive performance against key business targets, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Operations
1. Manage and review the daily planning schedule, identifying aborted jobs and revisits, and liaising with engineers and clients to arrange re-attendance and confirm applicable charges
2. Provide hands-on support and direction to the scheduling team to ensure efficient allocation of work
3. Manage engineer availability, including holiday approvals and sickness reporting within required timeframes
4. Maintain and resolve installation query logs, ensuring all issues are addressed promptly
5. Identify and resolve stock-related issues to avoid delays to installations
6. Monitor and reduce avoidable no-charge works, taking corrective action within 24 hours
7. Handle customer complaints and non-conformances, ensuring timely response and resolution
8. Provide reasonable out-of-hours support to installation engineers when required
9. Ensure full compliance with health and safety standards across all installation activities
Weekly Management
10. Lead scheduling and planning meetings to ensure workloads, resources, and materials are aligned with delivery timelines
11. Drive engineer utilisation by optimising scheduling and increasing productivity where possible
Prepare and present weekly reports to senior leadership, covering:
12. Forecasted workload and performance
13. Customer complaints and resolutions
14. Installation challenges and improvements
15. Lead times and service delivery metrics
16. Engineer and scheduler performance updates
17. Revisits analysis and root cause identification
18. Progress of trainee development
19. Fleet compliance and performance monitoring
Monthly Performance & Leadership
20. Ensure all completed works are closed and invoiced within the month, achieving high completion targets
21. Deliver against monthly revenue and margin targets, particularly for Ansul system installations
22. Maintain oversight of engineer certifications and training compliance
23. Ensure annual product audits are completed for each engineer
24. Lead team performance management, including addressing disciplinary matters where required
25. Maintain optimal team capacity, reviewing headcount and workload demands regularly
26. Drive cost efficiencies, including reducing reliance on subcontractors
27. Define and standardise installation timescales for different project types
28. Communicate commission structures and performance updates to engineers
29. Approve and coordinate bonus payments in collaboration with the Office Manager
30. Attend monthly sales meetings to align operational delivery with business development
31. Produce and distribute technical bulletins to support continuous improvement and knowledge sharing
About You
You are a proactive and results-driven leader with a strong background in installation or field service management. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a proven ability to manage teams, improve processes, and deliver against operational and financial targets.
Skills & Experience
32. Proven experience in an Installation Manager, Operations Manager, or similar leadership role
33. Strong understanding of scheduling, workforce planning, and field operations
34. Experience within fire suppression, fire safety, or related technical industries (highly desirable)
35. Commercial awareness with the ability to manage revenue, margins, and costs effectively
36. Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
37. Confident communicator with the ability to engage effectively with engineers, clients, and senior stakeholders
38. Experience managing performance, KPIs, and continuous improvement initiatives
39. Knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance requirements
40. Ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams
