This is a fixed-term post within the Adult Learning Disability Team in North-Cumbria. The Adult Community LD service operates within Secondary Care, delivering specialist community mental health services, with interfaces to Primary care and other specialist services in the region. All cases are care-coordinated by a CPN who supports medical reviews. Flexible working arrangements are available.

Main duties of the job
This is a 12-month fixed-term maternity cover, with a possibility of extension. Support for flexible working is available, including travel considerations for face-to-face reviews. The post holder is expected to have RC responsibilities for community patients and to deliver excellent clinical care while working effectively within the MDT.

Job responsibilities
Applicants should be on the Specialist Register or within 6 months of obtaining CCT. Eligibility for Section 12 approval and Approved Clinician status is required. Please refer to the attached job description and person specification for details.

Knowledge
* Up-to-date knowledge in Psychiatry
* Awareness of current issues in mental health policy and legislation
* Special interest with evidence of publications or presentations
Qualifications/Eligibility
* MBBS or equivalent
* MRCPsych or equivalent
* GMC Specialist Register in General Psychiatry or eligible for inclusion
* Section 12(2) approval and Approved Clinician status
* Postgraduate relevant qualifications
* Training in educational supervision and appraisal
Experience
* Multidisciplinary team working
* Wide clinical experience in general adult psychiatry
* Clinical audit experience
* Experience with multi-agency work
* Service management or development experience
