Job Description
Our client is looking for a reactive maintenance engineer to join its established engineering team at a high-volume processing facility in Grantham. This is a hands-on role suited to a mechanically biased engineer who enjoys working in a fast-paced, production-led environment and taking ownership of plant reliability and performance.
The position is based on a continental shift pattern of 4 on 4 off, days and nights.
The Role
* As a Reactive Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of a wide range of industrial plant and machinery used within recycling operations.
* The role combines reactive fault finding with planned preventative maintenance and continuous improvement activities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Carry out reactive and planned maintenance to minimise downtime
2. Diagnose faults and restore machinery to optimal performance
3. Overhaul, adapt, and improve existing plant and equipment
4. Mechanical maintenance with some basic electrical work
5. Replace bearings, inspect compressors, and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems
6. Maintain conveyors, pipework, hydraulics, pneumatics, and carry out welding tasks
7. Identify and suggest continuous improvement opportunities
8. Complete maintenance documentation accurately and on time
