Job Advert Role: Support Worker/ Personal Assistant Reports To: Employer (this is not Wrexham County Borough Council) Rate: £13.45 per hour. Pension is available. Days: Evenings and weekends during term-time. Hours available at any time during school-holidays. The ability to be flexible is desirable. Job Purpose: To work with a young individual who requires support to increase confidence and independence within the community. To provide person centred care and support to this individual. To promote positive outcomes for the individual within the community. Job Description: The individual particularly enjoys watching or traveling on trains and swimming. They are seeking a PA who can support to broaden their hobbies and interests. They are seeking to increase their confidence within busy community settings such as shops, cafes, restaurants, and other means of public transport such as buses. They are seeking to increase the number of activities available to them in order to rotate activities on a weekly basis and reduce repetition. They are seeking assistance with introduction to healthier foods and learning how to prepare basic foods or meals for themselves. The individual is aware of budget management when in the community but may need additional support with this. Male preferred, however all applicants will be considered. A driver is essential, however having access to their own vehicle for business use is not essential as the employers vehicle is available for use. Training: Training required for: Behavioural Skills training, and First Aid. eLearning courses are available for all staff on a range of topics which promote ongoing professional development. Additional Information: Please note you will be working directly for the employer and not Wrexham County Borough Council. This role requires an Enhanced DBS check for Adults and Children. An induction with the existing staff team will be undertaken with the successful applicant. The employer may discuss with the Personal Assistant their availability for supporting with day-trips away from the local area which would be funded by the employer directly in relation to travel time, mileage, and subsistence. This is not funded as part of the role of Personal Assistant.
