Job Title: Oncology Pharmacist Banding: Band 8a Location: Sutton, Surrey Hours: 37.5 hours per week Start Date: ASAP Rate: £35 - £43 per hour Duration: 3 months We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Oncology Pharmacist to join our esteemed client in Sutton. This role involves providing specialist pharmaceutical care to oncology patients, ensuring the safe and effective use of cancer treatments. Your expertise will be essential in medication management, chemotherapy verification, and patient education, supporting multidisciplinary teams to optimise treatment outcomes. Key Responsibilities As an Oncology Pharmacist, you will be responsible for reviewing and verifying chemotherapy prescriptions to ensure accuracy and compliance with treatment protocols while providing expert pharmaceutical advice to oncologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. You will closely monitor and manage drug interactions, side effects, and patient responses to oncology medications, ensuring optimal patient safety and therapeutic effectiveness. Additionally, you will educate patients on their treatment plans, including chemotherapy regimens and supportive medications, offering guidance to enhance adherence and understanding. Your role will also involve participating in clinical audits and contributing to the development of oncology pharmacy guidelines, helping to shape best practices within the department. Qualifications & Experience GPhC registration (essential). Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent. Proven experience in oncology pharmacy, including chemotherapy verification and patient counselling.
