An opportunity has arisen for an outstanding candidate to join our Battery Systems Department and support the delivery of battery test & sign-off activities across all electrification programs at WAE. Innovation is at the heart of our work, and you will be an integral team member supporting a diverse client base.
Job Role:
1. Owning & maintaining test procedure documentation, including Battery Module & Pack level electrical testing, focused on supporting DV & EoL test activities.
2. Engaging with relevant engineering teams to gather inputs.
3. Determining test requirements, assisting with setup, and running tests.
4. Identifying issues during testing and helping resolve them, both remotely and in person as required.
5. Reviewing test data and using automated scripts to generate reports.
6. Collating data and reports, maintaining tracker documentation.
7. Identifying issues with results and reporting to relevant teams.
8. Determining limitations of test procedures and seeking continuous improvement opportunities.
9. Staying up to date with state-of-the-art cell technology.
10. Working in accordance with WAE health and safety procedures.
11. Identifying and maintaining test equipment needs.
12. Engaging with stakeholders at all levels within WAE.
13. Representing WAE externally at test house locations.
Location:
* WAE Kidlington / WAE Wantage / External test house support as required.
Qualifications & Skills:
* A relevant qualification in Electrical or Automotive Engineering with relevant work experience.
* Hands-on engineering approach.
* Knowledge of key battery technologies.
* Experience in setting up and supporting battery testing activities.
* Experience with battery data analysis using tools such as MATLAB, CANalyser, Atlas, or similar.
* Ability to diagnose issues during tests and implement solutions.
* Familiarity with high-voltage (HV) battery systems.
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
* Driver's license preferred for supporting tests at multiple locations.
