Fleet & Plant Fitter Company Overview: We are a waste management company that manages waste services in Elmbridge, Mole Valley, Surrey Heath and Woking. The team oversees a joint waste, recycling and street cleaning contract with Amey which is saving around £2.5 million a year while maintaining high quality services. The contract covers all aspects of waste collection including household waste, recycling, food waste, garden waste, bring banks, clinical waste, bulky waste and replacement bins. Position Overview: Your role as a Fleet & Plant Fitter will consist of repairing all types of plant and equipment when required, cost effectively maintain and repair all required vehicles and equipment and also work safely both individually or with others. Location: Primarily based out of our Camberley Depot/ Workshop but be expected to travel to, and work from different depots. Transportation will be provided in these instances. Responsibilities: Cost effective repairs to be carried out within budget To ensure all documentation, work orders, service sheets are completed and returned to the workshop office for approval, signature and filing To ensure all tooling and equipment used complies with current legislation and certification Maintain a tidy bench and working area All aspects of health and safety are adhered to The QA policy is understood First time repair of vehicles and equipment Up to date competency of the repair of vehilces None conformances at QA audits To be a qualified fitter Experience repairing a wide variety of plant and equipment Diagnostic ability to identify problems, find solutions and repair detected defects when required Role Specific Responsibilities: Carry ourt repairs to a safe and compliant standard Complete compliance documents as required Keep workshop clean and tidy at all times whilst working Move Vehicles to and from 3rd party repair centres Communicate with individuals at all levels (drivers, managers, compliance experts etc) Fault finding and root cause analysis Laise with parts suppliers as appropriate Requirements: NVQ Level 3 or eqiuivelant Able to work alone Good communication skills Able to attend roadside breakdowns (desirable) Good use of initiative Good understanding of health and safety in a workshop environment COSHH Awareness Good standard of Maths & English to GCSE pass rate Personal Profile: Team player Able to work to own initiative Tidy and organised Manual Handling COSHH Environmental Awareness Toolbox talk IOSH working safely Personal Track safety AC (PTS AC) Abrasive Wheels PPE Required: Safety boots Overalls Reflective jacket and trousers Safety helmet Goggles If you're interested, please Apply now or contact Hannah Metcalfe on (phone number removed) INDJB
