The Vacancy
We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Proposal Manager to join our Commercial team at De La Rue.
The role consists of assembling and managing proposals, the process, and stakeholders to prepare winning proposals and maximise sales. As part of this, the ideal candidate will thrive in a deadline-driven environment and be confident in collaborating across teams to produce high-quality proposals. A keen attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication abilities, and a strategic approach to problem-solving are essential. Experience in bid management or proposal development within a highly regulated environment would be a distinct advantage.
Key Responsibilities
1. Work collaboratively with the sales team, and functional areas to coordinate, influence and develop effective business responses for sales or qualification opportunities according to the published bid strategy or business model.
2. Work with the Pricing Analyst to effectively ensure completion of the cost model on
time and in line with the customer and business requirements.
3. Take the lead in developing win-orientated sales documents.
4. Develop and manage proposal timelines, ensuring deliverables are completed on schedule.
5. Be responsible for the handover to the project/post-sales team ensuring they are fully informed of the bid, including any outstanding items that require mitigation.
6. Co-ordinate all governance requirements for bid submissions as appropriate in line with approved Delegations of Authority and financial thresholds.
7. Support the Divisional leadership team, executing the strategy for Currency in terms of the Central Bank and Security Features/Polymer propositions.
Contract type: Permanent.
Working hours: Full Time – 36.5 hrs per week (9am – 5:15pm Mon, 9am – 5pm Tues – Fri, though some flexibility may be accommodated depending on team and business requirements).
Base location: Viables, Basingstoke.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
8. Minimum 3 years’ experience with proposal or Bid Management.
9. Proven track record of constructing a range of proposal documents, for both commercial customers and government customers, including small, medium, and large-scale complex documents, and across international boundaries.
10. Articulate and able to multi-task effectively under pressure and working to deadlines.
11. Excellent organisational and communication skills.
12. Languages are an advantage (Spanish and French).
