Hours: 4 on, 4 off (13.00 start time)
Pay Rate: £16.11 per hour (Enhanced rates on weekends & Bank Holidays)
Contract Duration: Seasonal April - September
We are seeking skilled and reliable HGV Drivers to join our Seasonal Coastal Team for the summer season. This role involves operating HGV vehicles, leading a small team, and ensuring Thanet's promenades & beaches remain clean and welcoming.
Shift time start @ 13:00 - 20:00, weekends, bank holidays & school holidays up until 6th July, then 4 days on/4 days off until September
1. Drive HGV vehicles and other required vehicles
2. Act as Team Leader, overseeing the work of team members
3. Empty bins, collect sacks, bulky items, and other waste
4. Perform routine maintenance checks and complete vehicle defect reports
5. Ensure vehicles are kept clean and in good working condition
6. Operate vehicles in compliance with Health & Safety regulations and legal requirements
7. Load and transport waste to transfer stations or designated sites
8. Work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physical tasks as required
Minimum Requirements:
* Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) or Class 2 (C) licence
* Valid CPC licence
* Knowledge of the Thanet area (preferred)
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Strong understanding of highway safety and working time regulations
* Willingness to complete a theory test on Domestic & EU Working Time Directive and Highway Code knowledge & a PASS mark is essential.
