The Children We Support
The support you provide is key to helping pupils overcome challenges and progress to the next step in their journey. The needs of each child are unique and often complex. We work with a diverse range of learners, many of whom face significant barriers to education. You will be supporting:
* Vulnerable Learners: This includes children at risk of exclusion, those with social:emotional struggles, children looked after (CLA), and those with a social worker who may have experienced adversity such as domestic abuse, neglect, or trauma.
* Pupils with SEND/SEMH: We provide tailored support for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, such as Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, dyslexia, and sensory or mental health difficulties.
* Children Missing Education (CME): You will help to re:engage learners who have been out of education for prolonged periods, creating a pathway back to school.
* Pupils Needing Catch:Up and ESOL Support: This includes pupils who need to bridge learning gaps, which have widened since the pandemic, and those for whom English is not their first language, such as Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children (UASC).
The Role: What Youll Be Doing
As a Randstad Tutor, you will enhance lives by facilitating the learning process and enabling pupils to achieve their goals. You will be responsible for creating a safe, relaxed, and enjoyable learning environment where every child has an opportunity to learn.
Key responsibilities include:
* Delivering Tailored Support: Provide academic tuition (in core subjects like English and Maths) and non:academic pastoral support such as mentoring.
* Flexible Delivery: Conduct sessions online in our secure virtual classroom or face:to:face, on a one:to:one or small:group basis (maximum 1:3 ratio). Sessions can be scheduled during the day, evenings, weekends, or school holidays.
* Building Positive Relationships: Establish rapport and trust with pupils, which is crucial for building their confidence and engagement. 90 of parents and carers report a positive impact on their childs confidence through our tuition.
* Using a Data:Driven Approach: Utilise our Randstad Assessment Tool to conduct baseline assessments, generate personalised learning pathways, and track pupil progress to demonstrate impact. Recent data shows 94 of our pupils make progress, with assessment scores increasing by an average of 54 over 12 weeks.
