Tardis Environmental UK Ltd are a well-established portable toilet and tanker hire business that operate a large fleet of HGV and LGV vehicles across various locations situated throughout the UK. We hire temporary waste and water solutions from 1000ltr waste and water storage tanks up to 30.000ltr storage tanks. Currently members of FORS and hold Gold accreditation.We are currently looking to recruit an HGV Fleet Operations and Planning Coordinator - Tankered Waste and Waterbased at our Telford Depot.Hours: Monday to Friday - with a degree of flexibility to suit the needs of the businessSalary: £40,000 per annumJob Purpose:The HGV Fleet Operations and Planning Coordinator is responsible for efficiently managing the scheduling, routing, and allocation of tankered waste and water vehicles.
The role ensures timely service delivery, compliance with environmental and transport regulations, and effective use of fleet and driver resources. This position is critical in supporting operational performance, customer satisfaction, and regulatory compliance in the tankered services sector.Key Responsibilities:Fleet Planning and Scheduling:Plan and coordinate daily, weekly, and monthly schedules for tankered waste and water collections and deliveriesAllocate vehicles and drivers based on route efficiency, customer requirements, and service prioritiesMonitor and adjust schedules in response to operational changes, urgent requests, or vehicle availabilityOperations Coordination:Liaise with drivers, depots, and clients to ensure timely and accurate service deliveryRespond proactively to operational issues such as delays, traffic disruptions, or customer requestsMaintain up-to-date records of vehicle locations, route progress, and service completionRegulatory Compliance and Safety:Ensure operations comply with environmental, transport, and health & safety regulations (e.g., waste carriage regulations, ADR, COSHH, tachograph rules)Monitor driver hours and certifications to maintain legal complianceSupport incident reporting and risk management processes for spills, accidents, or contamination eventsData Analysis and Reporting:Maintain and analyze operational data to identify trends, optimize routes, and improve efficiencyPrepare operational reports for management, including fleet utilization, service performance, and compliance metricsUse fleet management or route planning software to track vehicles, plan schedules, and improve service reliabilityCustomer and Stakeholder Management:Communicate with customers regarding scheduling, delays, or service queriesCoordinate with internal teams (sales, dispatch, depot) to align operational plans with business requirementsProvide operational input to support business growth, customer satisfaction, and service expansionQualifications and Experience:Experience in HGV fleet planning or transport operations, preferably in waste management, tankered water, or bulk liquids transportKnowledge of waste transport regulations and environmental compliance requirementsExperience using fleet management software, route planning tools, and operational reporting systemsStrong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skillsSkills and Competencies:Excellent route planning and scheduling abilitiesStrong coordination and communication skills with drivers, clients, and internal teamsAbility to respond quickly and effectively to operational disruptionsUnderstanding of HGV regulations, driver compliance, and safe operational practicesAbility to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic operational environmentWorking Conditions: Office-based with regular communication with drivers, depot staff, and clientsMay require flexible working hours to manage operational schedules and emergenciesWant to be part of a great team, to have the opportunity to join our team submit your CV to be considered for an immediate interview.TPBN1_UKTJ
