We are excited to be recruiting for a proactive and experienced Production Engineer to join our fast-paced business and dedicated team

Joule is a leading manufacturer and distributor of heating, ventilation, hot water, and renewable heating solutions, operating in the UK, Irish and European markets.

Due to continuing growth, we are seeking a dynamic, forward thinking and enthusiastic Production Engineer with a hands-on approach and experience in a welding environment to join our fantastic UK team based in Pontefract.

This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute directly to a fast-growing manufacturing operation and help shape the next phase of our journey.

You will be actively involved in all stages of the production process, from raw materials through to finished goods and delivery. The position is highly varied and requires direct, practical involvement in supporting both production processes and engineering activities.

Key Responsibilities:

* Support and drive improvements across the full production process, from raw materials to finished goods and final delivery to the customer.

* Contribute to factory layout planning, production flow optimisation, and alignment of critical equipment.

* Collaborate with R&D throughout the New Product Introduction (NPI) process to bring innovative products to market.

* Work with a motivated, hands-on workforce in a dynamic and opportunity-rich environment.

* Enhance the health and wellbeing of production staff by improving ergonomics, tooling, and processes.

* Lead cost-saving projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

* Understand and analyse manufacturing costs by performing work/process studies and developing business cases for improvement.

* Take ownership of time-sensitive projects, working independently or within a team to deliver high-quality outcomes on schedule.

* Clear and open communication throughout the functional teams.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

* Proven experience in a production environment; experience in metal fabrication and sub-component assembly is highly desirable.

* Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with both individuals and groups.

* A proactive mindset, with strong attention to detail and quality.

* Mechanical aptitude and a solid understanding of machines and machining processes.

* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings; 2D/3D CAD proficiency is a plus.

* Knowledge of welding processes (automatic and semi-automatic is beneficial).

* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

* Ability to create, implement, and monitor work instructions on the shop floor, and ensure adherence.

* Committed to tracking progress and driving continuous improvement.

* Support and coordinate engineering change requests and change management activities.

* Hands-on experience with the programming and operation of CNC machinery /industrial robots highly desirable.

This is a Monday to Friday role of 40 hours, typically working 08:00-16:30 although there may be some flexibility on start and finish times. Current operational hours are between 6am and 5pm.
