Job Description
I am currently on the lookout for a Junior Commis Chef for a newly refurbished country pub that is looking to expand their current exciting team.
The property currently has 10 ensuite bedrooms finished to a high standard and a 100-cover restaurant which they are expanding to 150 in the coming months.
During the new refurbishment the management team are currently fitting new gadgets and kits for the kitchen team, so this is a fantastic opportunity to join an expanding team serving modern European dishes to a high standard.
The average working week is 5 days over 7, average of 45 hours a week and the salary are dependent on experience, but the client is willing to pay up to £19,500 per annum with a good tips package and fantastic house sharing accommodation for only £95 per week with all bills included in that.
This is a great opportunity for a Junior Chef to take on a role and be mentored by a fantastic head chef from a strong background.
Candidate Specification
·Must want to succeed as a chef
·Be eager and have a passion for the kitchen
·Proven Commis chef or in a high-quality restaurant
·Be comfortable handling covers in the restaurant i.e. 40 covers per service
·Thrive in a busy environment
·Be self-motivated
·Fantastic time management
·Be able to work a service on a section in the kitchen
·Hold yourself to a high professional level
Candidate Role
·Work alongside the Head chef & Sous chef to further develop your skills as a chef
·Work a section of the kitchen to train and learn new skills and methods
·Ensure the consistency of all produce is in line with the chef's specification and standards
·Manage your time efficiently completing all of the tasks given to you by the senior team
·Prepare and cook menu items, using the best seasonal ingredients available
·Take responsibility of health and hygiene of your section and the kitchen
·Ensure guest satisfaction at all times
