Position: Accounting & Accounts Payable Coordinator

Our client is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented professional to join their accounting team in a role that combines accounts payable administration with broader financial support. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys variety in their work and takes pride in accuracy, efficiency, and collaborative problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable:
- Manage full-cycle accounts payable, including invoice review, approval routing, coding, and payment processing.
- Ensure the timely and accurate completion of vendor payments in accordance with internal policies.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies quickly and professionally.
- Monitor aging reports and help maintain positive, productive vendor relationships.
- Identify and support process improvements to strengthen internal controls and AP efficiency.
General Accounting Support:-Assist with month-end closing processes, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Participate in periodic inventory counts and related accounting activities.
- Contribute to preparation of financial reporting and accruals.
- Support audit activities and year-end requirements as needed.
- Provide back-up coverage for daily deposit and cash processing.
- Perform additional accounting duties to support business needs.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years’ experience in accounts payable or accounting within the construction industry.
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and internal control practices.
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems (Microsoft Dynamics NAV or similar preferred).
- Proficient in Excel with strong numerical accuracy and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Strong prioritization skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Working knowledge of French is considered an asset
