Summary of Role The Head of Digital Insights has a diversified set of responsibilities that blend visioning, strategy development, evangelism, functional design, data engineering, roadmap management. Reports To: CTIO / Head of Data Science, Engineering, & Services Primary Responsibilities Strategy and Vision Conduct market research and engage with customers to solicit feedback on the informational challenges clients face Lead “customer” advocacy groups to understand client needs Partner with client and service delivery teams to test hypotheses and understand how insights impact decision making Conceptualize the types of questions MediaSense should be answering by leveraging data from the adtech ecosystem Create and maintain an “insights” roadmap that supports both business goals and investment / technical realities Align roadmap to the company’s technology and data strategy Remain informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and changes in the adtech ecosystem to guide technology roadmap decisions Develop the MediaSense approach (the “how”) for the processes, tools, roles, and technologies needed to enable efficient and scalable insight creation Evangelize and communicate our insights vision, data strategy, approach, and roadmap to clients and MediaSense team members Functional Design Define “how” MediaSense will answer “insight” questions, including how data will be used, data storytelling, and data visualization requirements Collaborate with service delivery leaders to align on the approach to evolve “digital audits” into an agile capability to provide recurring insights Develop “data strategies” including insight methodology, data sources, data rights requirements, and data management processes Translate “insight stories” into functional designs Create detailed “insight product” requirements Prioritize features based on end user/client needs, business impact, and technical constraints Manage the insights backlog and ensure it aligns with our technology vision Data Architecture: Identify and design “productized” repeatable data engineering solutions Design the functional data architectures to scale the production of repeatable insights, including sources, data ingestion, data pipelines, transformation processes, and schema design Oversee and guide the translation of function designs into technical designs Build (in collaboration with development & engineering teams) scalable data pipelines to enable repeatable reporting and insights solutions for customers Collaborate with development & engineering teams to improve data quality and integrity across MediaSense Identify and use leading-edge data mining and machine learning techniques Cross-Functional Collaboration Collaborate with service delivery, client management, business development and engineering teams to ensure highly coordinated technology development, release, and management of insight capabilities Collaborate with marketing and go-to-market teams to ensure optimal market positioning and align commercial expectations Partner with go to market teams to explore the commercial feasibility of data monetization offerings Collaborate with client leads and business development teams to define the insights that MediaSense will consistently deliver to clients for specific offerings (client specific and comparative market insights) Collaborate with the Architecture and Engineering to manage timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure timely releases Team Leadership Manage, coach, and mentor a business analyst Provide oversight and direction to external development teams Enable MediaSense to drive data innovation into client project work
