ABOUT THE CLIENT
Due to continued growth, we’re looking for an Automation Test Engineer to join an established organisation that places quality, reliability, and continuous improvement at the centre of its software delivery.

THE QA AUTOMATION ENGINEER ROLE
As a QA Automation Engineer, you’ll be responsible for building, maintaining, and improving automated test coverage across key products and platforms.
You’ll work closely with developers, product teams, and DevOps to ensure quality is embedded throughout the development lifecycle, with a particular focus on scalable, reliable automation using Cypress.
Key responsibilities include:
* Designing, building, and maintaining automated end-to-end test suites using Cypress
* Championing an automation-first approach across the QA and engineering teams
* Improving existing testing frameworks, tooling, and QA processes
* Integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support fast, reliable releases
* Working alongside developers to identify testable solutions early in the development cycle
* Supporting risk-based testing to prioritise critical user journeys and business functionality
* Analysing test results, defect trends, and QA metrics to drive continuous improvement
* Contributing to broader quality initiatives including performance, usability, and regression testing
* Supporting compliance with internal quality and security standards
AUTOMATION TEST ENGINEER – ESSENTIAL SKILLS
* Strong commercial experience in test automation
* Hands-on experience with Cypress for automated UI / end-to-end testing
* Good understanding of software testing principles and QA best practice
* Experience working in Agile development environments
* Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into deployment workflows
* Experience improving automation frameworks and test processes
* Understanding of risk-based testing approaches
* Ability to analyse QA metrics and use insights to improve quality
* Experience working closely with development, product, and DevOps teams
* Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
