Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Tracheostomy Sponsorship Carer to join our specialist complex care team on a permanent basis. This role involves providing high-level clinical care to an adult male with complex needs, including respiratory and feeding support, within a 2:1 care environment.
Applicants must already be on a UK Skilled Worker sponsorship and meet the experience requirements outlined below.
Client Profile
The individual you will be supporting is an adult male with severe cerebral palsy and complex healthcare needs requiring specialist, continuous care.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide safe and person-centred 2:1 care in line with individualised care plans
* Deliver comprehensive tracheostomy care, including routine and emergency tracheostomy changes
* Perform oral and tracheal suctioning
* Use cough assist equipment safely and effectively
* Manage jejunal (JEJ) feeding and associated equipment
* Support with hoisting and safe manual handling
* Monitor respiratory function and respond appropriately to clinical changes or emergencies
* Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation
* Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals, family members, and the wider care team
* Adhere to safeguarding, infection control, and health & safety policies
Essential Requirements (Mandatory)
* Currently on a UK Skilled Worker sponsorship (transfer of sponsorship required)
* Minimum of 1 year’s experience working in the UK in a health or complex care role
* Previous hands‑on experience with tracheostomy care, including emergency management
* Experience with suctioning, cough assist, and enteral feeding (JEJ)
* Experience supporting individuals with severe physical disabilities and complex needs
* Ability to work a mix of day and night shifts
* Good level of spoken and written English, with the ability to communicate clearly and accurately
* Reliable, compassionate, and professional approach
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
* NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Health & Social Care
* Experience in home-based or specialist complex care settings
* Training certificates in tracheostomy care and respiratory management
