The school is now seeking an experienced and proactive Safeguarding Lead to strengthen its safeguarding provision.
Role Overview
The Safeguarding Lead will take operational responsibility for child protection and safeguarding processes across the school.
Key responsibilities include:
* Acting as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (or DSL where appropriate)
* Managing safeguarding referrals and casework
* Liaising with social services and external agencies
* Monitoring CPOMS or safeguarding systems
* Delivering safeguarding training to staff
* Supporting vulnerable students and families
* Ensuring compliance with KCSIE guidelines
* Overseeing record keeping and documentation
* Supporting attendance and welfare interventions
* Advising staff on safeguarding concerns
The role requires discretion, resilience, and strong multi-agency communication skills.
Safeguarding & Pastoral Structure
The Safeguarding Lead works closely with the Headteacher, SENCO, Attendance Officer, and Welfare team within a structured pastoral framework.
Candidate Requirements
* Experience in safeguarding within education
* Strong knowledge of KCSIE and child protection legislation
* Experience managing safeguarding cases
* Excellent record-keeping skills
* Ability to work calmly under pressure
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Commitment to student welfare
