Job Overview
Applicants are invited to apply for the role of Simulation Fellow in Frimley Emergency Department. The role is 75% clinical and 25% non-clinical. We are looking for doctors to start in August 2025.
This is an excellent opportunity for doctors to maintain clinical work while dedicating time to areas of personal interest. It promotes sustainable working practices and helps build CVs and experience.
Study leave: 18 days (10 days general study leave, 5 days private study leave, 3 days for exams or interviews). Study budget: £650 per year.
The emergency medicine rota includes evening, night, weekend, and bank holiday shifts. LTFT enquiries are welcome.
Applicants must have a minimum of 24 months NHS experience. This advert is open to ST1/2 and ST3+ applicants.
Main duties of the job
1. Attend the Trust simulation faculty training
2. Organize and run simulation teaching for ED staff and medical students
3. Assist with Wing Factors simulation training involving pilots in debriefs led by ED consultants
4. Run simulations in the sim suite and in-situ
5. Write simulation scenarios
6. Learn technical skills involved in running simulations
7. Deliver simulation sessions for clinicians returning after absence, new NHS staff, and exam candidates
8. Support each other's training days and share ideas with fellow fellows
9. Promote multidisciplinary learning
10. Work with supervisors to ensure work benefits the department and supports your learning goals
11. Supervise medical students on placement in the ED
12. Collaborate with other ED fellows to expand experience and support projects
