Overview
Shape the future of clean energy on one of the UK's most significant infrastructure projects. This is a site‑based role where you will play a key part in driving environmental compliance, sustainability performance and continuous improvement across a highly regulated project environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct regular environmental site inspections and identify compliance issues or best practice.
* Provide advice on environmental legislation, permits and planning conditions.
* Review Environmental Management Plans, RAMS and contractor documentation.
* Support environmental audits, inspections and self‑assessments.
* Investigate environmental incidents and recommend corrective actions.
* Monitor contractor compliance with DCO and environmental requirements.
* Promote positive environmental behaviours across construction teams.
* Escalate environmental risks and non‑compliances appropriately.
* Support continual improvement initiatives across the project.
* Maintain accurate environmental records and reporting documentation.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Experience in an Environmental Management role within construction or industrial environments.
* Strong knowledge of UK environmental legislation and compliance standards.
* Understanding of CDM Regulations 2015 and contractor responsibilities.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Ability to work independently within a fast‑paced site environment.
* Degree qualified in Environmental Management, Environmental Science or similar.
* Experience working within ISO 14001 aligned Environmental Management Systems.
* Experience within major infrastructure or nuclear projects is desirable.
* Familiarity with DCO‑controlled projects is advantageous.
* Experience engaging with regulators or auditors would be beneficial.
