Job Summary
We seek a skilled Network Engineer with at least 5 years of experience. The ideal candidate will have expertise in network Layer 2, Layer 3, Layer 4 protocols, wireless protocols, and cloud infrastructure. CCNA certification (or higher) obtained within the last 5 years is required. Knowledge of SD-WAN and SASE is highly desirable. This is a remote role with occasional travel. A full UK driving license is required.
This role involves static working hours from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM (GMT/BST), Monday to Friday, and participation in an on-call rota (one week in every five) for out-of-hours support.
Job Responsibilities:
* Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure for high availability and security.
* Troubleshoot and resolve network issues across various layers and platforms, including wireless, AWS, and Azure.
* Support and maintain cloud WAF.
* Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, and patches.
* Collaborate with IT teams to integrate network services.
* Implement and manage Meraki, Ubiquiti, and SASE solutions.
* Support incident resolution and request tickets.
* Maintain documentation for configurations and troubleshooting.
* Travel to stations for on-site support as needed.
* Stay updated on emerging networking technologies and trends.
Qualifications and Competencies:
* Minimum 5 years in network engineering.
* Deep knowledge of Ethernet, IP, TCP/IP, BGP, WPA3, Wi-Fi 6E/7.
* Current CCNA or equivalent (within last 5 years).
* Basic understanding of SD-WAN and SASE.
* Experience with Cisco Meraki hardware.
* Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting network devices.
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Ability to work remotely and manage time effectively.
* Full UK driving license and ability to travel.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Additional certifications like CCNP, JNCIA.
* Experience with cloud networking, automation, security solutions.
* Experience with Ubiquiti solutions.
* Familiarity with network monitoring tools.
