Job Description

Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Department: Engineering

Inspired and Supported by: Engineering Manager

Salary: £36,878 including service charge

Your purpose will be:

To assist with maintaining and improving the physical appearance and operational efficiency of the hotel including physical, mechanical, electrical and plumbing

You will be accountable for:

4. Identifying and carrying out all maintenance/redo requirements

5. Keeping systems in top operating condition

6. Maintaining highest standards for the maintenance and safe operation of issued tools and equipment

7. Carrying out PPM checks in rooms and responding to guest requests

8. Identifying opportunities for engineering related improvements across the hotel

Your key responsibilities & contribution will be:

9. To respond to all guest repair and departmental repair requests promptly

10. To complete PPM checks of the hotel rooms

11. To be help the shift engineers respond to guest requests

12. To regularly check stock and to report to supervisors what needs ordering

13. Communicate rooms and areas needing repair and time lines on how long the work will take

14. To meet all service standards in every guest interaction

15. To keep all equipment and tools provided by the hotel are kept in good repair

16. To work well alongside other departments and other colleagues within the department to ensure smooth running of the hotel

17. Communicate any delays due to any unforeseen problems in a timely manner so expectations can be managed

18. To keep work areas clean and tidy at all times and use signage provided by the hotel

19. Coverage of shifts if needed and given notice to do so

20. Maintaining a high standard of personal grooming and appearance


Qualifications

What you will need to do in this role?

21. 1 – 3 years engineering background

22. Basic plumbing and electrical (supported by qualified electrician).

23. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written with the ability to communicate effectively with people of all levels

24. Enthusiastic and positive personality with the ability to build trusting relationships

25. Ability to multi task and problem solve in a fast paced environment

26. Keen eye for detail

27. Strong problem solving skills

28. Proven organisational skills. Work well on your own. Able to set and meet deadlines with quality results

29. Flexibility to work different shifts including night shifts

30. Aspirational in nature and want to improve your engineering knowledge within the department

31. 1 – 3 years’ experience in a luxury hospitality environment
