About the role We are looking for an ambitious senior finance professional who is passionate about and thrives in the fast pace of growing early-stage technology companies. As an Associate CFO, you will play a pivotal role helping our clients grow their businesses through all stages of development – from funding, through growth, to exit planning. You also have a deep understanding of the finance infrastructure needs of growth companies and the appropriate technology, processes and controls. You will work closely with Client CFOs, supporting strategic financial leadership of a portfolio of clients, providing strategic insights, financial oversight, and operational excellence to drive business success. You’ll be based in our London office, but will have the ability to work remotely from a home-based office and will be happy to occasionally travel for client visits. Responsibilities Managing the day-to-day financial relationship across your portfolio of clients, ensuring exceptional service delivery Providing strategic financial guidance, including: Financial Operations, including agreeing and implementing appropriate policies and delegations with your clients Defining management reporting and delivering the information needed to build their businesses Production of forecasts and budgets, advising on business and strategic financial planning Managing cashflow and runway Supporting clients through fund raisings, exits and other corporate activities Partnering with client management teams and boards in the fulfilment of their strategic objectives On boarding new clients to iCFO, coordinating the transformation of their finance service with the implementation of iCFO’s processes, tech stack and reporting insights Management of all financial statutory reporting and compliance requirements including supporting audit requirements Assisting in business development efforts, attending prospect meetings and events, and preparing client proposals. Mentoring, managing and coaching team members across the iCFO team Qualifications, Skills & Experience A qualified accountant with experience at the Head of Finance, FD or Senior Financial Controller level Experience working in technology startups / early-stage businesses, particularly those backed by venture capital (VC) or private equity (PE) Adept at presenting complex ideas and solutions simply to non-financial audiences Strategic thinker with experience or strong interest in leveraging AI tools (e.g. for scenario modelling, reporting automation, or forecasting enhancement) to drive performance insights Demonstrate agility and pace together with an ability to work and make decisions in ambiguous, changing environments Strong interpersonal and communication skills Proven ability to design and implement appropriate technology and processes, showing a meticulous attention to detail About You Trusted Partner: You build relationships based on respect and collaboration, acting with honesty and trust at all times.
