Full Stack Engineer – Real Time Event Driven Systems
London, Hybrid (3 days a week in Islington)
We are seeking a Full Stack Engineer to join an innovative technology organisation that builds fully bespoke, high-performance systems. The technical environment is largely custom built, avoiding reliance on off-the-shelf platforms, which allows engineers to take real ownership of what they deliver and shape solutions end to end.
The engineering culture is collaborative and modern, with agile development and epic ownership at the core of how the teams operate. This role suits someone who enjoys solving complex problems, working across a varied technology stack and being closely involved in the entire software lifecycle.
What you will be doing
• Designing and delivering real time, event driven and highly available back-end systems using C# and the .NET ecosystem
• Building modern and intuitive front-end applications with React and TypeScript
• Taking full ownership of features from discovery and design through to build, deployment and ongoing improvement
• Working across a bespoke technology landscape where custom engineering is valued above plug-and-play solutions
• Helping to migrate and modernise systems in the cloud and contributing to long-term platform evolution
• Implementing CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code for automated and reliable delivery
• Collaborating with engineers who value clean design, testing and continuous improvement
What we are looking for
• Experience working on real time, event driven or high-volume distributed systems
• Ability to own epics and deliver complex features end to end
• Strong server-side engineering skills with an understanding of scalable and highly available architectures
• Comfort working in a bespoke engineering environment where solutions are designed from the ground up
• Familiarity with modern testing practices and building quality into every layer of the stack
• Clear communication skills, curiosity and confidence in contributing ideas
• Someone who enjoys working across the full software lifecycle including architecture, implementation, testing, deployment and iteration
