Lift Engineer
RPS are currently seeking an experienced Lift Engineer to join our progressive business and service our clients by providing consultancy services in South London and Manchester. RPS Design Division delivers projects across multiple sectors, including residential, logistics, retail, aviation, healthcare, education, manufacturing, data centres, and energy. What you’ll be doing:
This role offers the chance to progress within Lift Engineering, working on modernisation projects involving lifts and escalators. You will be involved in a variety of tasks, including:
* Designing lifts and escalators
* Reviewing contractor proposals and drawings
* Assessing risk and method statements
* Attending pre-start meetings
* Managing lift and escalator installation projects
* Account and contract management
* Investigating accidents
* Witnessing testing procedures
* Conducting safety and maintenance audits
* Performing traffic analysis and calculations
* Preparing specifications
* Supporting FM, maintenance, and compliance projects
* Troubleshooting
* Occasional LOLER examinations
* Procurement activities
* Providing regular reports
Who we’re looking for:
The ideal candidate will have an NVQ3 or NVQ4 in Lift Engineering and experience in consultancy or project management within lift engineering. Additionally, you should:
* Be skilled in creating specifications
* Have a solid technical knowledge of various manufacturers' equipment
* Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal
* Be detail-oriented and analytical
* Be decision-motivated and proactive
* Be comfortable working autonomously and innovative
* Be a team player
