As we continue to improve the pace and breadth of our reporting, we are looking for a highly experienced accounting professional to join our team as we build the Finance function of the future.
Reporting to the Director of Group Reporting, the successful candidate will provide accounting advice under IFRS globally across all functions. The role will be responsible for the preparation and review of internal accounting policy guidance, liaising with external auditors, the preparation of Checkout.com’s Group financial statements, global share‑based payments expense and communicating accounting outcomes and requirements to senior stakeholders.

How you’ll make an impact:
* Provide accounting advice on a range of IFRS topics including revenue recognition, financial instruments, software capitalisation, leases and impairment.
* As the lead of the Technical Accounting team you will provide oversight on the calculation of complex global accounting topics.
* Lead the determination of group accounting policies and the development and maintenance of internal guidance manuals, including running the accounting decisions for new products and geographic expansion.
* Lead the assessment and implementation of new and amended accounting standards.
* Communicate with senior internal stakeholders, including the Executive team, and lead complex accounting discussions with external auditors and internally with functions such as Treasury, Tax and legal entity financial controllers.
* Assist financial controllers with financial statement preparation and local GAAP advice as necessary, including disclosure requirements and completeness.
* Lead efforts to continuously improve our technical accounting processes and consider best practice.
Qualifications:
* Professionally qualified accountant (CA / ACA / ACCA or equivalent) with 8 years post‑qualification experience.
* Financial services experience.
* In‑depth knowledge of international accounting standards, in particular IFRS 15, IFRS 9 and IFRS 2.
* Experience in leading a team.
* Exceptional written and communication skills, in particular the production of accounting analysis memos and simplifying complex accounting concepts for non‑accountant senior stakeholders.
* Experience in the preparation, review or audit of financial statements prepared under IFRS, including complex disclosure notes.
* Experience of accounting within an international environment and communication with external auditors.
* Experience of US GAAP is desirable but not essential.
