Hazlegrove is a thriving South West Co-Educational Prep School. Pupil roll is around 360 with 100 boarders. Based around an 18th century house and set in 200 acres of parkland, the school enjoys outstanding facilities. Around 30 staff live on site.
We are seeking a highly organised person to support the delivery of the teaching in the Science Department by providing practical and administrative day to day support to the teaching staff, to ensure the safety of the working environment and pupils
Essential Requirements:
* GCSEs (A-C) in English, maths, and a science subject (or equivalent).
* Minimum of 1 Year experience working in a science lab in a similar role (school or industry)
* Knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations, COSHH and CLEAPSS
* Excellent organizational and communication skills.
* Strong attention to detail, observation, and critical thinking.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Basic computer skills and familiarity with scientific equipment
* Ability to reflect constructively on former or current practice, and to incorporate new ideas and approaches
Desirable Requirements:
* First Aid Certificate
* Higher qualification in a Science related subject
* Experience in a Primary and/or Secondary School setting
* Understanding of how to maintain and fix scientific equipment
* Awareness and understanding of the safeguarding of young people
