About the Role
Are you passionate about giving children the best possible start in their education journey?
We’re looking for a caring, enthusiastic and proactive EYFS Teaching Assistant to join our nurturing Early Years team in and around Plymouth.
You will work alongside experienced staff in a Reception or Nursery class, supporting children in their learning, development, and play.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young children and wants to make a real impact in a warm and welcoming school community.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support the class teacher in delivering high-quality early years education and care
2. Work with small groups and individual pupils, helping to meet their learning and developmental needs
3. Assist in planning, preparing, and organising engaging play-based activities
4. Observe and record children’s progress, contributing to learning journals and EYFS assessments
5. Promote positive behaviour and ensure a safe, inclusive learning environment
6. Help with setting up and tidying the classroom, including indoor and outdoor area
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
7. Experience working with children in an EYFS setting (Reception or Nursery)
8. Good understanding of the EYFS framework and child development
9. A nurturing, patient and flexible approach
10. Strong communication and teamwork skills
11. A commitment to safeguarding and supporting the wellbeing of all pupils
Desirable:
12. A relevant childcare or education qualification (e.g. Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Early Years Educator)
13. Paediatric first aid certification
14. Experience working with children with SEND

Salary
£95 - £100 per day.
