About the team and what we do
The Case Examiner team sits within the NMC’s Professional Regulation directorate and plays a critical role in safeguarding and protecting the public, enabling the organisation to deliver its regulatory responsibilities effectively. Case examiners use a range of guidance to help them reach decisions on whether there is a case to answer about a nurse, midwife or nursing associate’s fitness to practise.
Case examiners also work in collaboration with our investigators to identify gaps in evidence and support timely and proportionate investigations.
Your role and impact
In this role, you’ll review evidence gathered during our investigation and decide whether a case requires adjudication by a panel of our Fitness to Practise Committee.
