Field-Based Account Manager – Detection & Protection (North East England)
About the Role
This field-based Account Manager position carries full sales and budget responsibility for the Detection and Protection product portfolio. You will be tasked with managing, retaining, and expanding customer relationships within a designated region – the North East of England.
This is a growth-focused role, requiring a proactive approach to identifying opportunities, increasing market share, and delivering value-led solutions to both new and existing customers.
You will be responsible for:
* Developing and executing strategic action plans to prioritise opportunities and achieve sales objectives.
* Creating customer propositions that emphasise long-term value and benefits.
* Following up on qualified leads from trade shows, marketing campaigns, and publications.
* Meeting and exceeding sales and profitability targets through focused, strategic initiatives.
You will also play a key role in managing customer relationships, ensuring sales opportunities are accurately tracked within the CRM system, and coordinating closely with internal teams to ensure successful delivery of projects.
Other responsibilities include:
* Monitoring and assessing upcoming tenders.
* Supporting collaborative campaigns with marketing and regional/global account teams.
* Representing the company at relevant exhibitions, seminars, and industry events.
* Adopting a consultative and solutions-oriented approach in customer interactions.
* Operating with agility and responsiveness in a fast-paced environment.
You'll be joining a well-established and supportive team of eight experienced Account Managers, reporting to the UK Sales Manager.
What We're Looking For
We're seeking a results-driven and collaborative individual with a passion for delivering customer value and driving growth. Ideal candidates will bring a combination of technical acumen, sales experience, and strong interpersonal skills.
* A degree in a technical discipline is desirable, though not essential.
* Demonstrable success in technical solution sales, ideally within the industrial safety market.
* Business-to-business sales experience, with a proven ability to develop and close opportunities.
* Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and persuade at all levels.
* Ability to resolve conflicts using a constructive, win-win approach.
* Confident presentation and written communication skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
* Organised, proactive, and able to operate independently while collaborating effectively with wider teams.
