Main duties of the job
* Accountable for budgets within the Education and Library team (uniforms, stationery, overtime).
* Assist the HOCE in rolling out the Trust Education Strategy for all non‑medical staff, meeting service and individual needs and ensuring links with education providers and professional bodies.
* Lead and manage the coordination of specific training in line with local and national requirements, trust guidelines and competencies under the guidance of HOCE.
* Lead/chair the clinical skills group for all new techniques in the organisation.
* Provide expert advice and specialist knowledge to all trust areas for non‑medical education and practice development.
* Monitor standards for education and practice development.
* Analyse data for educational audits, research and feedback.
* Report trends and prepare reports across the organisation, involving complex analysis and the development of relevant business plans.
* Ensure trust‑wide compliance with NMC and HCPC standards in relation to pre‑post registration education under the guidance of HOCE.
Job responsibilities
* Work collaboratively with the medical education lead to maximise opportunities for multi‑professional development.
* Ensure high‑quality provision of non‑medical education within the Trust.
* Promote a high‑quality clinical learning environment.
* Share good practice across the profession in relation to the development of the clinical learning environment.
* Ensure standards and objectives of educational contracts are met.
* Provide leadership and act as a role model to nursing, including advice on professional nursing issues at both local and national levels, with direction guided by the national regulatory framework.
* Lead and manage projects relating to education provision to enhance clinical practice and patient care.
* Lead and encourage multidisciplinary collaborative working, dealing with resistance to change positively and productively.
* Act as an effective role model for the profession, develop credibility through consistent high standards of nursing care.
* Lead, manage, motivate and develop staff to ensure high morale.
Person Specification
Education and Qualifications
* Registered professional.
* Holder of a degree in their professional discipline.
* Teaching or mentorship qualification.
* Master's qualification or equivalent experience.
Experience and knowledge
* Demonstrable experience of improving service change within a highly complex scale health organisation.
* Evidence of developing, implementing and monitoring educational programmes in a healthcare organisation.
* Proven ability to analyse highly complex problems and develop successful, practical and workable solutions.
* Evidence of ability to lead, motivate and influence individuals within the Trust and outside organisations.
* Experience of working in an acute healthcare setting.
* Experience of education commissioning.
Skills, abilities and competencies
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proven change management skills.

£57,528 to £64,750 a year, pro rata.
